Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

ISE Digital assesses all four language skills: Speaking, listening, reading, and writing. ISE assesses the ability to interact in English in an authentic and meaningful way, through integrated reading and writing exam tasks and integrated speaking and listening tasks. 

The 4-skills exam takes 105 minutes, including a levelling test and time to read instructions. 

No, all four modules must be taken at the same time. You may re-sit one module within 90 days to improve your score. 

It is possible to re-take one skill within 90 days to improve a score.

The score for each module is reported on a scale from zero to 150.  

The ISE digital overall score is an average of the candidates’ four module scores and is reported on a scale from zero to 150.  

These scores will be added to the certificate as well as the corresponding CEFR level from A1-C2. 

A 'Not yet A1' score is also possible.

The diagnostic profile of your performance in each skill (reading, listening, speaking and writing) shows the areas where you performed well and the areas you might wish to practice and develop further.  

The score report includes module Scores. 

ISE Digital will assess candidates from CEFR levels A1-C2. 

A 'Not yet A1' score is also possible. 

Yes, the Integrated Skills in English (ISE) exam is regulated by Ofqual.
