Born in 2019 in Bangalore, Anav G quickly demonstrated an extraordinary aptitude for learning. By just eight months old, he was already identifying a wide range of objects, including animals, vegetables, and musical instruments. His abilities quickly developed, and by the age of two, Anav could name over 100 countries, identify numerous shapes and flags, and answer more than 200 general knowledge questions. Recognising his remarkable talents, the India Book of Records awarded him an Appreciation Certificate at just 2 years and 7 months old.
Anav's journey into music began by chance when he accompanied his older sister to her guitar lessons. Intrigued by the rhythmic sounds of the drums, he expressed a keen interest in learning the instrument. With the encouragement and guidance of his parents, Girish and Kavitha, Anav began formal drum lessons. Despite his young age, he quickly grasped the fundamentals of drumming—mastering rhythm, beats, and time signatures with ease. Drum teacher, John Diwaker noticed his natural ability to understand and internalise musical concepts, which allowed him to progress rapidly.
Within just six months of starting his drum lessons, Anav was ready to take on the Trinity’s Initial grade exam, aged 4. His performance was confident and skilled, reflecting his dedication and passion for music. Anav G is now preparing for his Grade 1 exams in Drum Kit and Rock & Pop Drums, showing a continued commitment to his musical development.
Anav’s journey so far has been marked by an impressive blend of talent, dedication, and rapid progress. His passion for drumming continues to grow, and he is well on his way to achieving great things in the world of music.
“Just six months after beginning drum lessons, Anav G passed his Trinity Drum Kit Initial grade exam, aged 4.”
