Since 1878, the Trinity College London Honorary Awards have been recognising outstanding standards of scholarship or achievement in the performing and creative arts, language and/or communication - aligning with Trinity values and ethos.
We are delighted to share that Trinity recently held its 2024 Honorary Awards Ceremony to honour those who have contributed to these fields in unique or significant ways. The ceremony was fittingly held at the home of the Royal Society of Arts, and awards were made by Mike Saunders, Vice-Chair of Trinity College London’s Council of Trustees and our CEO Erez Tocker.
This year Trinity is celebrating the outstanding and sustained contributions of Dr Adam Ockelford, Arling Ng and Professor Annalisa Spadolini – all awarded Honorary Fellowship (Hon. FTCL).
Congratulations also to our new Honorands; Carlos Bautista, Francesca Christmas, Dr. Jayanti Banerjee and Jyotishka Dasgupta – awarded Honorary Membership (Hon. TCL).

Arling Ng – Co-founder of Parsons Music Corporation, building the largest prestigious musical enterprise in the Greater China Region, with over 100 retail locations and 80 music schools. (in absentia)
Dr. Adam Ockelford – Professor of Music at the University of Roehampton, Dr. Ockelford is internationally renowned for his work in special educational needs in music, having transformed the lives of tens of thousands of children through his inclusive framework for musical assessment – Awards and Certificates in Musical Development in association with Sounds of Intent.
Professor Annalisa Spadolini – A celebrated musician, educator, and researcher in Italy, Annalisa has played a key role in shaping national music education policy and continues to lead impactful projects on both national and international levels.
Dr. Jayanti Banerjee – Director of Language at Trinity, Dr. Banerjee is a leading expert in language assessment, with two decades of experience. Her research on impact and washback in English language testing is recognized as foundational in the field.
Carlos Bautista – Recently retired as Trinity’s representative in Spain, Carlos has been a trailblazer in the Spanish market, promoting innovative teaching methods using Trinity’s exams for over 50 years.
Francesca Christmas – Francesca has been with Trinity for 15 years, advancing to Director of Music and Interim Director of Publishing. She has overseen the most prolific and successful period in Trinity’s history, notably through an unprecedented number of music releases in 2023.
Jyotishka Dasgupta – Trinity’s representative for Kolkata since 1997, Jyotishka has been pivotal in expanding Trinity’s presence across Eastern India, while also serving as Joint Academic Head for the Indian subcontinent.
