The Young Performers Certificates are a suite of awards at Bronze, Silver and Gold, designed to develop confidence, group interaction skills and a sense of achievement for children up to age 7.
They encourage young learners to develop performance, musical and communication skills, create and explore stories, songs, roles and situations through the imaginative and integrated use of movement, music and voice.
Young Performers Certificates are teacher-led awards for groups of six to twelve children. These awards promote good classroom practice through co-operation and creativity, developing a child-centred introduction to performance, encouraging participation and providing progression through three levels.
At Bronze level children to take their first steps in exploring performance led by their teacher. The work presented should emerge out of child-centred play or group activities integrating at least two skills in performance, musical or communication.
At Silver level children to continue to develop their performance skills supported by their teacher, encouraging individual contribution to the group presentation. The work presented should emerge out of child-centred play or group activities integrating at least two or three skills in performance, musical or communication.
At Gold level performance skills supported encouraging individual contribution to the group presentation. The work presented should emerge out of child-centred play or group activities integrating at least three skills in performance, musical or communication Teacher may discreetly direct the performance.
