Life skills for a transforming world

Topic: Pop-up Presentation 2 | Life skills for a transforming world

Presenter: Alison Castle Kane

Presentation details

Young people are increasingly anxious about even the most basic interactions. From creating small talk to engaging with new people face-to-face, these concerns impact their ability to collaborate with peers and colleagues in academic and work settings.

For language learners in the age of AI, speaking is rapidly becoming a more highly valued skill, and they require every opportunity to improve their speaking abilities and have their achievements formally recognised.

This session will outline how Trinity qualifications focus on assessing communicative competence, and how our Graded Examinations in Spoken English (GESE) exams take a progressive, asset-based approach that gives learners agency to leverage their experiences and strengths, builds their confidence in spoken English, and provides a formal qualification for future use.
