These activities complement communicative teaching practices. They don’t cover all exam requirements — remember to use the GESE Exam information booklet to ensure that you cover all the exam content.

Note that Topic discussion forms are not required at this level.

GESE Grade 1 — CEFR level Pre–A1

• Activity 1 — colours, parts of the body, clothing 
• Activity 2 — animals 
• Activity 3 — classroom objects and numbers 
• Activity 4 (adult learners) — classroom objects and colours
• Activity 5 (adult learners) — colours, parts of the face and body
• Activity 6 (adult learners) — greetings, personal Information, leave-taking

GESE Grade 2 — CEFR level A1

• Activity 1 — household objects and rooms
• Activity 2 — people, possessions and questions
• Activity 3 — numbers and pets
• Activity 4 (adult learners) — indicating position and describing people
• Activity 5 (adult learners) — pets, household objects, position
• Activity 6 (adult learners) — stating simple facts and asking simple questions

GESE Grade 3 — CEFR level A2.1
