I nominate Siyona for outstanding achievement in her arts award journey from Explore level in 2017 , Bronze in 2018, Silver in 2020, and Gold arts award in 2022, this has helped her personal development and skill development.
She started drawing at early age of 2 and kept on going consistently, dedicating her time to art. Her interest in art grew with the Trinity Arts Award qualifications, she put her thoughts and efforts into art more seriously. She got her first award in art at the age of 9 and then at the age of 11, she brought her first solo exhibition to her hometown in 2020 which is a collection of her artworks where she captures nature and mood of individual at that particular moment and called her exhibition 'Unraveling Emotions'.Her skill in art gave her that confidence to connect with people and learnt that people's opinion matter a lot in art. She got selected to exhibit her work in Serbia, USA, Bulgaria, Japan, Singapore.
She became ambassador of Karuta 2020 each year when she got selected as among the winners three times in a row each year in Japan since 2018 where she sent her art by post.
In Singapore , she was chosen for Samaa award for her art because of message of positivity and beautiful portrayal of the value of woman in society.
During lockdown, She started working towards Gold Arts Award and despite of challenges that all of us were facing, she continued being creative and inspiring young people around. In December 2020, she conducted online session of Quilling by making live examples. Shé won prize for designing a card for the local community for the 'Pots of Love' project. She also designed masks in another competition in which she won a prize.
She donated her acrylic painting on canvas to the local hospital which is a piece of art dedicated to the service of NHS which she made at home during 2021. She surprises me every time by getting involved with various creative projects and spreading positive message to the society. She has many local, national, international awards and due to her efforts in art she has been awarded young artist winner award two times in a row in 2019 & 2020.
She is to appear on TV this year in a competition, art-based series, Britain's Best Young Artist, where she made us proud again.
What Siyona says about her Arts Award experience
Visual art is my passion as well a hobby. I started painting at the age of 2 and my interest in art grew with me and what added to my support is Arts Award qualifications. The journey has been magnificent and wholesome. I have developed my opinion and outlook for the subject matter and a sense of direction.
Through my artworks, I was able to represent United Kingdom in various art competitions as well as exhibitions in countries like France , Japan , Singapore, Slovakia and brought awards too .
During the lockdown, I continued being creative and realised that art is therapeutic.
Making art makes me express myself, and gives me freedom to experiment and to imagine! Like music, art has no language but people understand it when they look at it. Hopefully, I will continue to move in this direction, devoting my time towards art and will carry on painting !
